Been getting some minor shin splints the last 8 days of running. Pain is manageable with ibuprofen (I only take 1200 mgs a day) and of course icing after runs.
I searched the forum for exercises to rehab but I did not find any.
I have been very careful to increase volume slowly and my intensity for the 5 weeks has been very controlled. It only hurts for the first 2 or 3 minutes and then I'm fine.

Trying to run (and bike) more off feel and not watch the HR (and PM) too much and I have always been a little slower in the morning but my last three morning runs I have felt awful when I stay "slow or steady". Yesterday I did a 75 min. morning run and if I go off breath markers my HR never climbs above 135 (8:33 per mile pace). My evening run was 82 minutes @ 8:12 pace and I have to work to slow down. Typically I would like to open up about one mile in the morning (7:55 pace or so) to get the heart rate up just a little and then I will plan to slow back down to 8:20 pace or so. Any huge objections?

I have attached my workout log for the past month or so(I am working on transfering data to the EC log)

Oh well, file attaching didn't work: In the past 31 days I have biked 1100 miles and ran 195. I swim about 6500 yards a week. Just enough to keep my feel for the water.
